Cheer Pros California All-State Team and Scholarship Program

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Cheer Pros California All-State Team and Scholarship Program is to encourage and promote the attainment of higher educational goals for individuals who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement and have made positive contributions to their community through their involvement in cheerleading and dance.

Who is Eligible?

  • Current Juniors participating in Cheer or Dance at the High School or All-Star level.
  • Current Seniors who will be attending a post-secondary institution leading to a degree or diploma from an accredited university or college.
  • The applicant’s team must be registered for the 2012 Cheer Pros CA State Cheer and Dance Championships.
  • Only one (1) application per athlete.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

The applicant MUST submit the following items in order to apply for the Cheer Pros CA All-State Team and Scholarship:

  • Completed Application Form
  • Transcripts of current GPA and previous year’s GPA
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation, one from a coach or Advisor and the other from a teacher or member of the community
  • Letter from the applicant describing why he/she should be part of the Cheer Pros CA All-State Team
  • 1 minute DVD highlighting the applicant’s cheer/dance skills. No team performances. Showing a stunt sequence with a small group is allowed.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND AWARDS

  • The Cheer Pros California All-State Team and Scholarship Selection Committee will select up to 30 finalists. 10 High School Cheerleaders, 10 All-Star Cheerleaders, and 10 Dancers (High School and All-Star combined).
  • Cheer Pros California All-State Team Selection Committee will award $5,000 in scholarships.

Scholarship Levels

H.S. Cheer – $2,000 awarded

  • $500 Athleticism Scholarship- including talent and skill
  • $500 Academic Achievement and Community Outreach Scholarship
  • $1,000 Top Athlete Scholarship- All around display of Athleticism, Academic Achievement and Community Outreach

All-Star Cheer- $2,000 awarded

  • $500 Athleticism Scholarship- including talent and skill
  • $500 Academic Achievement and Community Outreach Scholarship
  • $1,000 Top Athlete Scholarship- All around display of Athleticism, Academic Achievement and Community Outreach

Dance (HS and All-Star) $1,000

  • $250 Athleticism Scholarship- including talent and skill
  • $250 Academic Achievement and Community Outreach Scholarship
  • $500 Top Athlete Scholarship- All around display of Athleticism, Academic Achievement and Community Outreach
